Colorful Mushrooms

Autumn always bring a lot of color and lovely mushrooms to the nature. Let's bring that autumn feeling inside by crocheting some colorful mushrooms.

I admit that I find this pattern a bit addictive. I had a hard time to stop the making of mushrooms. Would love to have one in each yarn color that I own :)

Spring Garden Bunting

Here comes an extra Spring Garden pattern! The Spring Garden Bunting.
Perfect decoration for a party or maybe for a child's room? This is a pretty quick and easy project.

I have used cotton yarn from Scheepjes which comes in many many colors. The hardest part of this pattern might be to chose the colors :)

Spring Garden Hexie Blanket

Hi there! Finally I have finished my hexagon blanket pattern the "Spring Garden Hexie" blanket.  I aimed for making a pattern which would result in a colorful blanket without too many ends to weave in. I have used the yarn Secret Garden from Scheepjes which comes both in variegated and uni color. I'm very happy with the outcome (even though there of course still are some ends to weave in :)).

The size of this blanket is for a kids blanket or a laphgan but the size is easily adjusted by adding more hexagons. The pattern is mainly built up by double crochet stitches and chains, I must say that I find it very relaxing since the pattern is easy to remember and that there are not many yarn color changes.

This post is made in collaboration with Scheepjes. Read more about that here.

I put a lot of work into my patterns so if you use them and share images on social media I would be very happy if you share a link to my blog and tag your work by #intheyarngarden (or #springgardenhexieblanket for this blanket). That makes it easier for me to see your creations which I'd love to see :)

JOINING

Blanket  model

Now it is time to join the hexagons and half hexagons. The assembling of the blanket is done in 2 steps:

1. Start with the seams marked in red in the image above. You will have 3 long stripes of hexagons after this step.

2. Join the stripes together, seams marked with blue.

Joining method:

Put the two pieces to be joined with the right side against each other (image 1). All st's are made through both of the pieces to be joined. BLO means the two loops held against each other, one from each of the two pieces.

Start in the ch-1 space to the right (image 2). Sc in ch-1 sp
*ch 1, sc (BLO!) in the next st (i.e. the next dc) (image 3)* repeat *to* until the last st before next ch-1 sp.
ch 1 and sc in the next ch-1 sp (image 4 and 5).

Joining

If you now have reached the end of the edge to be joined, fasten off and weave in ends. But if you are joining a long edge, ch 1 and sc in the next ch-1 sp and repeat the joining instructions from first * above until you reach the end. Then fasten off and weave in ends.

Let's finish the blanket by doing a border. Start in the ch-3 sp in the upper right corner (to the right of side A in the blanket model above.)

Border side A - round 1
Side B
(Ch 6, 2 dc) in the ch-3 sp, [dc in next st, dc in next ch-1 sp] repeat [to] until next ch-1 sp (image 5), dc2tog (one leg in each of the next ch-1 sp's, (image 6))  [dc in next st, dc in next ch-1 sp] repeat [to] until next ch-1 sp, 2 dc in ch-1 sp (image 7) repeat *to* until last ch-3 sp on side B.

Spring Garden Hexie Blanket

I hope that you have enjoyed this pattern. I had a really good time making it (at least the crocheting part, not so much on the pattern writing part ;) but it had to be done).

Spring Garden Hexie Blanket på svenska

Hej!

Spring Garden Hexie

The Spring Garden Hexie is here! A large crochet hexagon with pretty little flower patterns :)

This pattern contains descriptions for a full hexagon and a half hexagon. You can build all kinds of shapes with these two patterns.

The pattern for the whole Spring Garden Hexagon Blanket (shown on my instagram: intheyarngarden ) will soon be posted here on my blog as well.

Moss stitch table runner

Make a lovely table runner for spring. This table runner is made using the crochet moss stitch (sc and ch). The moss stitch together with a thicker cotton yarn gives a great texture. I have used the yarn Reko Cotton from Järbo Garn for this project.

Crocheting moss stitches is pretty easy after a while, so this is a perfect project for anyone who enjoys crocheting in front of the tv :)

Crochet wrist warmers

These cozy wrist warmers are super easy to crochet. They only consist of rows of single crochet (US terms). To make them a little more special they are decorated with cross stitches.

The cross stitch decoration makes the wrist warmers easy to vary even though the crochet part is so easy. Perfect :)

Perfekt :)
